A mini action research project about embedding English, maths and language in Community Learning, devised and put together by Adult Community Learning practitioners with Cambridgeshire County Council Adult Learning & Skills.
This project involved collaboration between English and maths subject-specialist tutors and adult community learning tutors in order to explore barriers to embedding English and maths in the ACL setting, and methods of breaking those barriers down. Four questions were addressed:
1.Ofsted want to see English, maths and language embedded in every class. Why?
2.What does it mean to embed English, maths and language in every class?
3.What is good practice in embedding English, maths and language in ACL?
4.What is the best way to support our tutors to embed English, maths and language in their teaching?
The answers to the questions have been incorporated into a video resource that is publically available to view.
