Regional Forums – creating wider communities of practice
The purpose of the Learning forums is to create a community of practice to support excellence in teaching in learning. The aim is to foster the creation of sustainable networks which form part of a national infrastructure which builds sector capacity for self-improvement. These forums target local needs, and also importantly address regional and national Ofsted priorities. They provide networking opportunities that integrate with the Learning Cycle model. They help create sustainability by providing opportunities for sharing of effective practice that go beyond the life of this initiative. The forums are also an opportunity to meet others committed to teaching and learning, share expertise and learn about effective practice from each other. Regional forums are taking place in all regions between now and early June, with three events in each region. Some of the events have already taken place, with 100% of participants saying it was worth their while attending.
